Work and/or accident related injuries

Condition:

The neck and back account for at least one third of all work related injuries. These injuries occur in such varying environments with very different causative stresses from prolonged sitting activity at a work station to traumatic accidents like falls or equipment failure. Accordingly, work related injuries require careful examination of the cause, with consideration of both the mechanism and required functional capacity and mode of work the patient will return to.

Treatment:

Most commonly, treatment starts with modalities to control pain, a home exercise/stretching program, progressive strengthening and intervention for mobility.
